Speeding Results In Suspended Driver Removed From The Roadway

On August 6, 2023 a Parkland County Peace Officer was conducting patrols on Highway 16 in a high crime area. The Officer observed a vehicle travelling at 150km/h in the posted 110km/h zone and initiated a traffic stop. During the course of the investigation, the Officer determined the driver's license had been suspended in Alberta for "flight from police" and that the Driver had subsequently obtained a BC drivers license and continued driving. Driving while suspended is a traffic offence that is statistically related to crime.

Subsequently the driver's vehicle was towed and impounded for 30 days, the driver was issued a violation ticket for speeding and a summons for driving while suspended.
