Unregistered and uninsured vehicle travelling at 164km/h

On February 20, 2023, a Parkland County Peace Officer observed a vehicle travelling at 164km/h in a posted 110km/h zone on HWY 16 near Range Road 25. The subsequent investigation determined the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured.
The driver was issued three violation tickets for:
Operate unregistered motor vehicle
Operate uninsured motor vehicle
Exceed maximum speed limit

In a recent meeting with Parkland County Administration, Wabamun businesses advised that they've noticed a reduction in crime over the past year. This can be attributed to the efforts of the residents engaging and taking responsibility for their community. This is illustrated by the 73% increase year over year of suspicious vehicles being reported in Wabamun (2021/2022).

On October 28, 2022, Parkland County Enforcement Services became aware of increased suspicious activity in the vicinity of Start Lake Estates (52318 RRD 25). Enforcement services responded by increasing uniform presence in the area through proactive patrols and operations.
