Project Description:

Replacement of existing sanitary force main and installation of a new watermain crossing within Entwistle, Alberta.


Scope of Work:

Detailed design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure in Entwistle. The Project includes replacement of the existing sanitary force main and installing a new watermain connecting to the Entwistle Reservoir. Both the sanitary force main and the watermain will involve directional drilling beneath HWY 16 and CN Rail which requires extensive prework and permitting to proceed. Additional scope items include replacement of existing watermain on 45 Avenue, tying into new Reservoir, tying into existing watermain on 48 Avenue, tying new sanitary force main into lift station on 46 Avenue, and replacement of force main outlet manhole on 48 Avenue.

Detailed Design: October 2025 – April 2026

February 1, 2026 – Debenture borrowing bylaws for water and wastewater budget scheduled for first reading in Council on February 24, 2026

December 1, 2025 – No Update

November 1, 2025 – Geotechnical Investigation and hydrovac completed in October.

October 1, 2025 – Project moving from preliminary design stage into detailed design. Geotechnical investigation tentatively scheduled for October 7 and 8, 2025.
