Project Description:

As part of an overall wastewater rehabilitation program in Wabamun, a replacement of all sanitary lines and manholes will be completed within the Osprey subdivision.


*There will be temporary road closures throughout the subdivision in various stages. The contractor will work with residents to provide accommodations to those who live within the subdivision*


*Garbage pick-up remains in place, residents are to place their bins at the end of their driveway and GS will take them to the pick-up point and return them at the end of the day. *


*Residents might also experience some short terms water shutdowns but will be notified accordingly. They will be set up on temporary water for the duration of construction to avoid any impacts*


Scope of Work:

Work will include replacement of all sanitary main lines and manholes within the Osprey subdivision. Service laterals that are in good condition will be reconnected to the new main lines and service laterals that are in poor condition will be replaced to property line. Lines and manholes will be replaced using open cut trenching, therefore the road and minor locations within the sidewalks will be disturbed during construction and returned to existing upon completion.

Updates:

November 2024: GS has completed the scope of work for replacement of the mains and services and is working on completing deficiencies to finalize the project.

October 2024: GS has completed 75% of the sanitary main replacement along 55 St, full replacement of the sanitary main along 52A Ave, and has begun the replacement along 52 Ave. Surface works have begun for sidewalk and road surface patching. This project is on track to be completed in October.

September 2024: Work has been completed from the lift station at the North end of 55 St. to about halfway down 55 St. They will continue working on the main line and manholes for the month of September along 55 St, moving onto 52A Ave, and then finally 52 Ave.

August 2024: GS Construction has begun work on the North side of the project limits and will continue down 55th Street for their first phase. Residents will be set up with temporary water to avoid any impacts and there will be temporary road shutdowns.

July 2024: GS Construction will mobilize to site and begin their preliminary works prior to construction.

June 2024: Completing pre-construction paperwork prior to mobilization for July.

May 2024: No Change.

April 2024: No Change.

March 2024: Completing pre-construction paperwork prior to mobilization for the beginning of June, 2024.
