Design and rehabilitation of Sundance Road West of TransAlta Sundance Plant.

Scope of Work:

The project includes design and construction which is focused on improving road condition and rideability.

Est. Start date: Preliminary design started April 2025. Construction expected late summer of 2026.

Updates:

July 22, 2026: Construction notice posted under the document section. Scheduled to start construction August 6th, with potential slight traffic delays.

July 7, 2026: Construction start up delayed due to recent rains. Tentative construction start up is the middle of August.

June 2, 2026: Construction tentatively scheduled to begin by the end of June.

May 1, 2026: Construction Contract Awarded. Tentative Construction start Summer 2026.

April 7, 2026: Award for the construction contract is ongoing. Construction is anticipated to occur in the summer of 2026.

February 27, 2026: Procurement of a construction contractor is ongoing. Construction anticipated to occur in summer of 2026.

January 30, 2026: Engineering design complete. Procurement of a construction contractor is ongoing.

September 15, 2025: No Update

July 4, 2025: No Update

June 3, 2025: No Update.

April 28, 2025: Engineering consultant procured. Geotechnical investigation and preliminary engineering ongoing.
