Project Description:

Improvements at two intersections along Highway 16A, (1) Spruce Valley Road and (2) Pinchbeck/Bevington Road.


* Speed reductions & traffic accommodations are in place on Hwy 16A, Bevington Rd, Twp. Rd. 530A and Spruce Valley Rd. Expected delays are under 30 minutes.


* A road closure is in place on Twp. Rd. 530A extending to Bevington Rd. Access for local traffic will be maintained.


Scope of Work:

Widening of Highway 16A deceleration and acceleration lanes, installing signalization lights and realigning of Spruce Valley Road and Pinchbeck and Bevington Road.

Updates:

October 4, 2024: Paving operations for the acceleration and deceleration lanes along Hwy 16A at Spruce Valley Rd, Pinchbeck Rd, and Bevington Rd are ongoing. Paving along Township Rd 530A North Service Road requires a temporary road closure to be in place for 4 days. It is expected that the work will be completed, and the service road re-opened after October 7, 2024. Clear signage and traffic management measures will be in place to minimize inconvenience. Local access to all impacted properties will be maintained throughout the construction period.

September 6, 2024: Township Rd 530A North Service Road has been re-opened and the speed limit has been reduced to 30 km/hr through the construction zone near Bevington Road. Subgrade and Granular Base Course construction is ongoing at Pinchbeck Rd, Bevington Rd, and Spruce Valley Rd.

August 13, 2024: Road construction along Township Rd 530A North Service Road extending to Bevington Rd requires a temporary road closure to be in place for 2-3 weeks. It is expected that the work will be completed, and the service road re-opened after September 2, 2024. Clear signage and traffic management measures will be in place to minimize inconvenience. Local access to all impacted properties will be maintained throughout the construction period.

August 7, 2024: Valves and hydrants along the watermain at Bevington Rd are being installed. Subgrade construction is ongoing at Spruce Valley Road.

July 17, 2024: Underground installations are ongoing at Bevington Rd including horizontal directional drilling of the watermain. Subgrade construction is underway at Spruce Valley Road. Speed reductions and traffic accommodations are in place on Hwy 16A, Bevington Rd, Twp. Rd. 530A and Spruce Valley Rd. Expected delays are under 30 minutes.

June 25, 2024: Equipment has mobilized to the Spruce Valley Road site and topsoil stripping is ongoing. Speed reductions and traffic accommodations are in place on Hwy 16A, and Spruce Valley Rd. Expected delays are under 30 minutes.

June 4, 2024: Excavation and filling is ongoing at Pinchbeck/Bevington Rd. Speed reductions and traffic accommodations are in place on Hwy 16A, Bevington Rd, Pinchbeck Rd, Twp. Rd. 530A and Range Rd 262B. Expected delays are under 30 minutes.

May 14, 2024: Erosion and sediment control measures have been installed to protect the wetlands and topsoil stripping is ongoing. Continued work on detours and traffic disruption notifications will be developed.

May 6, 2024: Construction is underway, and equipment has mobilized to the Pinchbeck and Bevington Road site.

May 2024: Final Approvals taking place. Preconstruction meeting has been completed. Equipment mobilization will occur very soon, and construction will be officially kicked off for 2024. Continued work on detours and traffic disruption notifications will be developed.

April 2024: Job awarded. Construction to start April/May 2024. Completion timeline is Fall 2024.
