Acheson Zone 5 Wastewater Trunk Upgrade
Project Description:
As development continues in Acheson, demand on the wastewater services increases. The wastewater system, servicing Zone 7 and Zone 5, that feeds into the Zone 5 lift station requires upgrading.
Scope of Work:
This project will involve the installation of an upgraded gravity wastewater system and the extension of a force main along 279th Street, connecting to the existing lift station in Zone 5.
Partial closures of 279th Street, north of 96th Avenue to allow for the open trenching up to 6m deep for installation of the wastewater system will be required.

Updates:
November 2024: Sewer system is fully installed and operational. Road is reconstructed and open. Minor surface work is being complete in ditches and lift station parcel first week of November.
October 28, 2024: Road has been re-opened.
October 2024: Gravity sewer is fully installed and tested. The forcemain is fully installed and connection to the wet well is complete. Tie in at the south end to be complete once pressure testing is complete. Subgrade and surface works to restore right of way and roadway is beginning.
September 2024: Gravity sewer is fully installed with live connections to be complete. Directional drilling is complete with tie in to be complete to the south. Gravity connection from the new forcemain to the wet well to be complete.
August 2024: Gravity sewer installation is in progress. The extents of the road excavation and closures has been reached at the southern limit. Directional drilling will commence mid-month.
July 2024: Contractor will be onsite July 15, 2024. There will be limited construction access for local businesses on 279Th Street, as the road will have closures and detours in place.
