Through a public request-for-proposal process, Parkland County has initiated a project that will see through the conceptual planning and detailed design for the future redevelopment of Hasse Lake Day Use Park.

Hasse Lake is one of the County’s key day use parks that for many years has been a destination for residents and visitors to the County. Recently, this park has experienced a sharp decline in usership and this project is the first step in reinvigorating public and stakeholder interest in park use.

The project is being led by Parkland County Community Services department, and the plan will result in a long-term vision that will modernize park amenities, maximize recreational experiences for our residents and provide an appropriate level of service for County parks and open space.

Engagement Timeline

Thank you to everyone who participated in our workshops, open house events and online surveys. We also appreciate all those who provided feedback through our information boards that were on display at Parkland County Centre. Your feedback is an important and vital step in our process to reinvigorate interest in Hasse Lake Day Use Park. Sessions were hosted as follows:

January 2025 - Focus Group Stakeholder Workshops

Our initial stakeholder workshop session allowed us to present findings, conduct site inventory and assess our understanding of challenges and opportunities within the Park. We also learned about each stakeholder’s interest in this park, garnered historical information, and uncovered prospective partnerships between user groups. In addition, user needs and gaps were identified, and the project team facilitated a two-hour workshop with stakeholders.
