Wireless Internet Rebate Program – Application for Eligibility
Please note, to be eligible for the Wireless Internet Rebate Program, you must first complete CIRA Internet Performance Tests on five consecutive days demonstrating that your speeds are consistently below 50 mbps download/10 mbps upload. Instructions for completing your required internet performance tests are below. These tests must be completed to demonstrate poor internet connection before you submit your application. If you are unable to supply the required speed tests, you may alternatively submit an application using the form below, including a declaration that you are unable to establish a wired internet connection at your property.
Applications can be made using the online form below or by completing a paper application form available at Customer Service at Parkland County Centre.
How to complete your required CIRA Internet Performance Test:
- Click on CIRA Internet Performance Test link: https://performance.cira.ca/parkland
- Press Start to start to begin
- When presented with the map, move the marker to your correct home address location
- Click in the comments box to enter your municipal address; e.g. 26-53327 RGE RD 15, or if not in a subdivision, enter like this example: 5309A HWY 779
- Please note, information about your internet package is not required but will help inform our rural internet initiative planning. Only your municipal address is required in the comments section.
- Hit submit. The municipal address on your speed test will be cross-referenced with the same municipal address listed on your application form.
- Please repeat the above process each day for 5 days in a row. If possible, please submit tests during peak internet usage hours (generally between 5.00pm and 11.00pm) to get the most accurate averages for your speed tests.
- Alternatively, if you are unable to supply speed tests, select the applicable answer to declare your inability to provide speed tests on the application form below.
Personal information provided is collected for the purpose of registering you for this rebate program under the authority of section 33 (c ) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act. Aggregated data will be shared between Parkland County and CIRA for the purpose of analysis and statistics.
