In response to ongoing demand for wireless internet services, the County offered subsidized equipment and installation fees for qualified residents. Effective December 2, 2024, residents were able to submit applications to receive a rebate of up to $1,000 for the hardware and installation costs for a new wireless internet connection, based on submitting adjoining speed tests. Note that applications closed on February 28, 2025, and rebate applications are now being processed.

The project team will continually monitor the program noting administrative demand, technical issues, and opportunities for improvement.

County-wide speed testing to improve rural internet planning

Regardless of need or eligibility for the rebates mentioned above, Parkland County encourages all residents to participate in CIRA speed tests to improve understanding of connectivity and internet speeds more generally across the County.
